This is one of those games that I have been dying to buy for a really long time before it came out. The delays in it's launch from last year had me raging, but now the game is finally out and is arguably the most played game on any console currently. I wanna get your thoughts on the game as I share mine in this GTA V Game Review.
My Review: The game has A LOT to cover, so I'll try my best to fit it all into one post. The game is starts off with another great piece of art by Rockstar games, as you take role in robbing a bank with Michael De Santa and Trevor Phillips, two best friends who take journey in the life of crime. Now take note that this current play sequence takes place 10 years before the present day (the actual important part of the game) so this is kind of like a prologue. The game wastes little time in advertising their new SWITCH feature in the game. The SWITCH Feature allows the player to switch between all three main characters in the middle of gameplay. The gun system is mostly the same, except for a few tweaks in the cache. Driving is introduced to the player when the robbers are in the getaway car and you must drive out of the range of the police. Driving is improved A LOT in this game as it feels so much smoother and easier to control. The robbers are cut short when Michael De Santa and the gunman are both shot & Trevor Phillips is forced to leave them both before he dies too. The game then shows a gravestone labeled "Michael Tomling", however behind the graveyard stands a well conditioned Michael Tomling who actually faked his death and was placed into Witness Protection Program where he would remain unknown. The game transfers to 10 Years Later and we see the Middle Aged Michael Tomling a.k.a. Michael De Santa, in therapy with a strange man. Here we are basically introduced to Michael's character traits and Michael's family. We skip to a cutscene on the beach where Franklin basically meets Michael on the beach while in the middle of repossessing a vehicle. Here we are introduced to Franklin's character.
SKIPPING TO ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME: Near about the Middle of the game, we are introduced to the older and much more dicky Trevor Phillips. Trevor has some psychological issues and anger problems, but that's what makes him so fun. While introduced to Trevor we get a look at Johnny from GTA IV The Lost. Good old Johnny doesn't like the fact that Trevor made love to his girlfriend in the first cutscene, causing Trevor to stomp on his head until his brains splatter everywhere. That ends our little flashback for GTA IV. Anyways, Trevor Phillips is now aware the Michael is alive and well living in the beautiful sunny city of Los Santos, and makes it his mission to find old Mike and possibly get an explanation.
Near End: Near about the End (but not the end) Trevor, Michael, and Franklin are all great friends and rob multiple stores/banks together. The heists are very well set up and realistic as you are required to meet standards when having to get equipment and hire gunmen. After a couple of mid game heists, Trevor finds out that Michael had buried Brad (Trevor's other best friend) in his grave. A pissed off Trevor battles a regretful Michael De Santa, as they both hate eachother until about the end.
The End: Now that we have reached the end of this game, You are playing as Franklin and you are required to chose from three choices- Option A, Option B, or Option C. Option A being to kill Michael De Santa. Option B to Kill Trevor Phillips. Option C to Kill Everyone you have worked for. If you kill Trevor you set him on fire. If you kill Michael, you push him off of a water tower. If you kill everybody you ever worked for you just prance around and push Devin Wester off of a cliff.
Well this game was a great work of art. Spectacular to say the least. Masterpiece. Go out and buy your own copy of GTA V, you won't regret it. This was probably one of my top five most favorite games ever. 10/10
